Loyal companion SCOUT needs a new home

Scout has been a loving member of the family for almost 9 years, but unfortunately, we just learned that our daughter has an allergy to dogs and we don't want to jeopardize her health. Scout's a loving 27lb companion dog who is always keen to sidle up to you. He loves humans (preferably older ones since he's getting older himself) and other small dogs. He's house trained and has lived in both an apartment and a house with no issues. He knows basic commands but will do almost anything for a squeaky toy or a treat. His only health issue to date has been his joints but he still runs around the house.
