12-week-old Jack Russell Mix | ~20 lbs | Adventure-Ready Pup
Cowboy is an incredibly smart, loving, and loyal puppy who has completely stolen my heart. He is curious, playful, and already showing what an amazing adventure dog he’s going to be.
✨ The good stuff (there’s a lot):
•Crate trained
• Potty trained
•Rings a bell when he wants to go outside
•Very food-motivated and eager to learn
•Doing great with training
•Sweet, affectionate, and loyal
•Loves hikes, walks, the outdoors, and the snow
•Playful, goofy, and absolutely adorable
Cowboy is about 12 weeks old and around 20 pounds, so he is a larger puppy and will likely grow into a medium-to-large dog. He’s already been to his first vet appointment and is up to date on Parvo and Distemper. He will be eligible for his rabies vaccine at 14 weeks.
🐶 Personality & needs:
Cowboy is highly intelligent and energetic. He thrives with structure, enrichment, and continued training. He’s very food driven, which makes him a great candidate for someone committed to working with him.
Like many puppies, Cowboy is currently in his mouthy/biting stage, which is normal at this age and continuing to improve with training and redirection.
Cowboy can be initially timid with some men and other dogs, and a professional trainer has advised that continued, consistent training and confidence-building will be important for him as he matures. He has already made noticeable progress, and with the right person, he has incredible potential to become a confident, well-balanced dog.
Because of his size, energy, and training needs, Cowboy may not be the best fit for a home with small children. He would thrive with someone who is active, outdoorsy, and experienced or committed to training.
🏔️ Ideal home:
•Active lifestyle (hiking, walking, outdoor time)
•Committed to ongoing training
•Patient, confident handler
•Understands puppy development and energy needs
🎁 Cowboy comes with:
Crate, beds, leashes, toys, treats, and bones — he LOVES toys and enrichment!
💔 This decision is incredibly difficult for me. I love Cowboy deeply and want nothing more than to see him thrive. Because of that, I will be very selective in choosing his next home. This is not a rushed rehoming — I’m looking for the right fit.
