As I posted earlier I am no longer in the breeding/training business due to circumstances beyond my control. At this time I have no need for my 2 remaining South African Boerboels as these two were never house pets. Please see EACH individual post for info on each.
Both dogs have been “basic” trained IE sit, stay, leave it, wait, NO (to whatever applies), come, lead with prong as well as e (for re enforcing the verbal command or silent recall) kennel, potty area outside, feeding etiquette as well as NO JUMP (that should be for obvious reasons).
If you’re interested in a South African Boerboels, read on. They were bred to protect the farms from all types of animals, including lions as well as the armed marauder type. They are giant breed dogs oftenly confused for ponies. They are very dominating due to their size and intelligence. They are the most intelligent of the mastiff breeds as well as the fastest.
Chronin the brown Male - DOB 17 May 2018 – He was bred by me out of Moab and Roxy, our first Boerboels. Moab and Roxy came out of Elevation Boerboels (https://elevationstud.co.za/) directly out of South Africa. Groenburg Rambo (umpteen time world champion) was Moab’s father making Chronin the grandson.
Chronin has never grown out of puppyhood and loves to play rough with whoever is available. This playfulness WILL get a younger child or older person HURT unintentionally thus it is strongly recommend that adult supervision be used at all times with kids and older adults.
He is a great guard dog and will alert on people, animals, and vehicles on the property as well as ANYTHING that wasn’t there last time he was out will be noticed and pointed out. He does enjoy lead walking yet requires a backpack with frozen water (or not) to weight him down and to give him “a job”.
My kids have trained him from the get go and he does listen to them yet his rambuncscinousness sometimes gets the better of him. He would be best in a home without a dominate dog; as he can be NON aggressive in his dominance yet has done well with others in public as long as they are calm, if not he can be a handful.
