Poodle for rehoming

Merlin is a 3 year old standard poodle in need of adoption. He was originally rescued by my elderly mother at around 7 months of age, but his large size quickly became too much for her and I have took him. He is a sweet and cuddly dog and will gladly sleep in your bed with you if allowed. He is very much a guard dog and barks when someone pulls into the yard. He's pretty skittish of other people but will relax once he has seen the same person enough times. He is VERY energetic and would do best with someone who has a fenced in yard so he has ample room to run and burn energy. He is in a house with three cats and does well with them. He would be best as an only dog, as he gets overly excited around small dogs and doesn't like other large dogs. House and leash/harness trained.

He is utd in vaccines, has been neutered, and has an unregistered microchip.
