Sliver is estimated to be 2 to 3 years old and is Pit Bull/Lab mix - or appears to be. She was found as a stray by the same person who owns Tank, so not much about her is known except that she was found with 2 puppies (also available for adoption) that are close to a year old.

Her current owner (the one who found her) has failing health which is why she is seeking her forever home - and she has not been to a vet because her owner is unable to afford it.

Sliver (and the puppies that were found with her) is kept separated from Tank, as she and Tank seem to be aggressive towards each other. With this in mind, I recommend that Sliver is an only pet as it is likely that she will not get along with other animals. She has already shown aggression towards cats, so definitely not good with cats.

She has been kept inside as she appears to be house trained, but she's definitely scared and confused by a collar/harness and leash. She will need a home with a fenced yard so she can still enjoy outdoor activities.

She is a very, very sweet dog, but seems to be pretty timid at first. She has a habit of jumping up on you when she greets you, but she is not mean or aggressive.

Sliver needs a quiet environment and is not recommended in a home with children, especially since she gets so nervous and timid. She will not be rehomed to anyone who will keep her outside because she's an indoor pet. If you have no intention of keeping her indoors, don't apply to adopt.

Sliver is located in Dinwiddie County, VA

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION- Sliver was pregnant when she was found and she has since had her puppies. Because she was found as a stray, it is not known what her puppies are but unless you are fully prepared and wanting to take such a responsibility on, all potential adopters for Sliver must now wait until her puppies are fully weaned. The puppies will be available for adoption later on as well in hope to avoid the shelter.**

03/2/25 Update - Sliver was recently discovered to be okay around older children that were more on the quiet side that were very patient with her and let her come to them on her own. She was very, very playful towards them and did jump on them, but it wasn't anything mean. She was very, very loving towards them as well after playing, so she may do well with older, calmer children in a quiet environment. Not sure why she's so timid with lots of noise and people because again, she was found as a stray, but I suspect she may have been abused. Silver's current owner's health has become worse, and because the family of her owner doesn't want her, she is under serious euthanasia risk, and so are her now 5 week old puppies who do not have approved homes yet. I don't have any info on the available puppies yet, but they will be posted as soon as I do.

All potential adopters will be required to sign and complete an Adoption Agreement/Form. Vet references personal references and proof of identity may be required because this is an adoption.
