Standard Poodle parti colored neutered male

Tate is a very sweet black and white Parti-colored AKC registered Standard Poodle available to an only dog home. He loves to play with other dogs but he guards food, and he also barks if crated for long periods of time so he would do best in a home where he can be a one and only, with someone in a single family home (because if in an apartment, he would bark if he heard people coming and going). He is very smart, will do anything for a treat, is a great eater and is house-trained (no potty accidents). But he is still young,  about 18 months old, so he does have to be watched or he will get into things. Medium in size Tate weighs 50 lbs, eats twice a day. Very calm when with his person, will just lay on a blanket with a toy, see photo.  Loves to retrieve. Has not been around young children. We would prefer a home that will continue his training, and we can apply the adoption fee to a trainer who does private lessons. Current owner is a retired trainer but disabled so he has not been to training classes. Knows sit, down, touch, "kennel up" and retrieve. Any applicants must give vet and groomer references. He is now groomed once a month, 4 to 6 weeks works well for most poodles. His coat is low maintenance if you have him groomed monthly and keep ears short, but when his ears were long of course they had to be brushed.  Bonds quickly, but he will bark at strangers but warms up quickly to visitors. He and our 3 year old male are not getting along well,  which is why we are rehoming him to be an only pet.
