Teddy is a Shih Tzu–Poodle mix with a heart full of love and a story that deserves a happy ending. 💛
He didn’t have the easiest start in life — his original home wasn’t kind to him. He spent much of his early life locked in a cage and neglected, which left him anxious and unsure of people. My aunt rescued him and gifted him to me so he could have a chance at a better life.
When Teddy first came home, he had a lot to learn — from potty training to trusting humans again. Grooming was also hard for him at first; he went nearly three months before he could let a groomer touch him. But since then, he’s made so much progress! He’s gotten much better about using the bathroom outside, and he’s learning that love, touch, and care are safe.
Teddy is sweet, playful, and wonderful with children. He absolutely loves affection and attention from people he trusts. Once he warms up, he’s the most loyal and loving little companion you could ask for. 🐾
However, due to his past, Teddy still has some anxiety around new people and situations. He wasn’t properly socialized before, so he needs someone patient and experienced who can continue helping him feel safe and confident.
I love Teddy deeply, but I’ve realized that with his extra behavioral needs, he deserves a home where he can get more one-on-one time, consistency, and training than I’m currently able to provide.
If you have a big heart, a calm home, and the patience to help a dog continue his healing journey, Teddy will repay you with endless love and loyalty. ❤️
