3-Year-Old Male African Grey – Seeking Experienced, Permanent Home

Blue is a verified male African Grey, just under 3 years old. He was purchased from Paul Colo at Rainforest Aviaries, and I have complete breeder documentation including hatch date, weight records, and band information. He is closed-banded and DNA sexed.

He came to us at approximately 15 weeks old after being properly hand-weaned. Shortly after arriving, he received a wellness exam with an avian veterinarian. He has had no health concerns and has shown zero signs of feather plucking or behavioral issues.

Blue is step-up trained and fully flighted. He has been raised in an active household with teenagers and dogs, so he is well socialized and comfortable around normal daily activity. He enjoys being out of his cage with the family and thrives on interaction. Shower time is one of his favorite things — he will happily perch and bathe for as long as you allow.

He is a strong talker and continues to develop his vocabulary. His diet has consisted primarily of Harrison’s pellets since we brought him home, supplemented with fresh vegetables. Seeds are given only occasionally as treats.

We love Blue very much. However, our family schedule has changed significantly with frequent travel for sports and college commitments. African Greys require consistent daily interaction and stimulation, and we feel he deserves a home with more time and presence than we are currently able to provide.

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced parrot home — ideally someone who currently has parrots or has done significant research on African Grey care. His long-term wellbeing is our priority above all else.
