Beverage is nearly 1 year old. He was a stray we found when he was approximately 4 weeks old and we took him in and bottle fed him with the intention of keeping him. Our female adult cat does not like him and corners him and leaves him on edge, so we feel he would be happier elsewhere.

He does nip to communicate when he's done being held or pet, but not hard. He's never broken skin.

When I have friends over, he's all over them. Rubbing his head and body against them as much as he possibly can. Even then, he doesn't necessarily want to be touched by the person, but he's a lover. He does hiss when he smells an unfamiliar cat on a person... in between very affectionately rubbing his head and body up against the same person.

According to the vet, he's a good boy. Well, for his first visit we got the feedback that he was spicy but then the next time we got feedback that he was a good boy, so I guess it varies.

I tried to surrender him to the Atlanta Humane Society today and they saw a side of him I've never seen when they took him into a room for a behavioral assessment. He was hissing and swatting and biting the fake hand they use to make sure real hands don't get bit. They couldn't even get him out of the crate. I'm honestly distraught about this. I think it was the environment that was really messing with him. As soon as he and his crate were back in my hands he was calm and curious again.

TL;DR - Beverage perhaps needs an experienced cat owner to get the nipping under control, but he really is a sweet boy he's just dumb. I also think he would do best in a single cat home.

Oh also he is fixed and has had all of his shots up to this point.

Also also, he is not food motivated. We have to keep an eye on him while he eats because the big cats will come in and steal his food and he will fully let them.
