Our dear friend Thomas is in the hospital and will not be coming home due to cirrhosis of the liver. If you knew Thomas, you knew his heart—especially when it came to animals. His dog, Blue, was his world… his companion, his comfort, his family. One of Thomas’s final wishes was that Blue be placed in a loving home where he will be cared for and cherished the way Thomas always cared for him. About Blue:     •    Male, mixed breed (“Heinz 57”) – looks mostly like a black lab     •    Likely a mix of Lab, Golden Retriever, Beagle, Chihuahua, and more     •    Estimated age: 8–10 years old (rescue, exact age unknown)     •    Very sweet, gentle, and well-mannered     •    Listens well and has a calm disposition     •    Extremely timid—afraid of men and even his own shadow     •    Bonds best with women     •    Has not been around small children, so a quiet adult home is recommended Blue is a loving, sensitive soul who needs patience, kindness, and a peaceful environment. He may be shy at first, but he has so much love to give to the right person. We are especially hoping to find someone in or around Dahlonega who may have known Thomas or understands how much Blue meant to him. Giving Blue a safe, loving home would mean everything—and would truly honor Thomas in the most meaningful way. If you feel you could be that person, please reach out.
