Seeking a dog lover with: Land, patience, and experience working with rescue puppies to rehome my beautiful Basset Hound x a Smooth Coat Collie named Dennis the Menace. Dennis was a stray puppy in the first chapter of his life, who was picked up by a man, placed in the back of his truck, and dropped off at the shelter. I've owned him for approximately 1 year. In this time, we've learned how to walk on a leash without reactivity, his name, and sit. He's polite when you're eating food and will long for a nibble from a distance. He's got a phenomenal bark and howl that will shake your chest, though he only does this when there's someone at the door. He makes me feel safe. Dennis has traveled across the country and has stayed in Airbnbs throughout the nation. He is good with cats, so long as you establish first that the cat is a member of the family and the boss. I'm very proud of him, and he's a gorgeous little dude.
Dennis is up to date on shots and gets a monthly Trifexis pill to ensure that he doesn't acquire any parasites. Dennis is neutered. He is potty trained, though please have grace as he may struggle with this big change. Dennis is on a routine of ~7 am morning potty, ~4 pm evening walk, and ~9 pm nighttime potty. This is something that can be adjusted as needed by the new owner. He loves being with other dogs, though of course is super playful. Dennis just learned what a horse was about a week ago, and while curious, is behaving beautifully with the horses. He's still in his introductory phase with horses at this time.
I unfortunately have to rehome beautiful Dennis due to starting up work that will take me away from home for sporadic periods of time. Due to Dennis's past traumas and need for training, this would only hurt him. He needs a family that respects his boundaries, gives him room to run around, and loves him as much as I love him. $45 rehoming fee, and I will request to do a few Meet N' Greets to ensure that everyone is a right fit for both him and you.
