Maya Sweet female Labrador Retriever mix, approximately 1 year old. Smooth, double-coat but seems to shed very little. Spayed and completely up to date on vaccinations. Heart worm negative and on heart worm, flea & tick prevention. Micro-chipped, with registration to be transferred with adoption.

Maya was roaming her foster home's neighborhood and surviving on her own for almost 3 months. She's been in foster care since February 20, 2026. Maya is flawlessly house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. She also knows basic commands.

So far Maya hasn't met a dog she doesn't like and loves to play, although not too rough. She hasn't had much experience with cats, but hasn't been interested in chasing the few she's met. She does well with school age kids but hasn't had experience with pre shool age kids yet.

Maya is shy/nervous with new people but warms up quickly with a little time and patience. Once she trusts you she loves being with you, loves being petted, belly rubs and sleeping at your feet.

Maya would do well either as a one-person dog, or being a part of a family. She's not high maintenance but needs regular together time and walking. She would be great as an only dog, but do just as well sharing a home with another friendly dog. Maya has a very gentle disposition and loves to be where her people are. She's only available for adoption to someone who will include her as part of their family.
