Description
Posted 09 Jan 2026Brutus is a sweet, loyal German Shepherd looking for the right forever home. We rescued Brutus from the Greene County animal shelter about four months ago, where he arrived severely malnourished (59 pounds) as a stray. He has made an incredible recovery and is now a healthy, happy 90-pound dog. Our veterinarian estimates he is around 5 years old.Brutus has a wonderful temperament. He is gentle with adults and children, house-trained, crate-trained, and up to date on all vaccinations. He is neutered and in excellent health. He bonds closely with his people and thrives with structure, attention, and regular activity.
Because of his prey drive, Brutus is not compatible with cats and is not good with small dogs. We believe he would do best as an only pet. He has a medium-to-high energy level and requires a securely fenced yard where he can safely exercise.
We are rehoming Brutus solely because we have outdoor cats and cannot safely manage that dynamic. This is not an easy decision, and our priority is finding a stable, committed home that understands the breed and can meet his needs.
We believe Brutus is full-blooded German Shepherd based on appearance and behavior, but we do not have papers.
If you are looking for a devoted companion and can provide a cat-free home with a fenced yard, Brutus will make an excellent addition to your family.
