Buddy had a rough start to life. He wasn't always treated as well as he has been with me during his transition.  Like many pitt bulls, he had the high prey drive.  I do not trust him around small animals and so have not had him interact with my large dog. He can get over stimulated in certain environments.  He will need a handler who is confident, kind and is willing to earn his trust at all cost.  I have worked hard to build trust with him and he has become a very loyal companion. He wants nothing more than to have human companionship.  Is loves his play time when I go outside with him.  He has settled down so much so ce when I first brought him in he learns very fast.  He just needs 20 to 30 minutes a day of structured walks or activities to encourage good leash manners and establish leadership from the purposeful walk. If I didn't have other pets, I would keep him. My goal was to get him in from the cold and the isolation of a backyard kennel where he was starting to get a little wound up from the lack of socialization and exercise.  I have been impressed with his intelligence and desire to please.  

He would do best in a home with out small children, rough play is something I would avoid because of how excitable he can be.  I keep him entertained with bones and his favorite toys, he plays rough, so I avoid that by asking him to sit and to be EZ.  It works every time.  He is Leary of strangers but it is insecurity, not true aggression.  He does tend to want to resource guard me, which I am working on breaking that habit.  There are some exercises, literature and helpful. I formation that I have acquired while working with Buddy to ensure he gets the best possible chance at successs as anyone could give him.  I really want to find him the ideal person because he is absolutely awesome in so many ways.  I love this guy.  I just have 3 dogs who miss me and I have already committed to them.  If he was a good fit with my existing dogs, I would keep him.  It wouldn't be fair to him or then for me to have them living separate lives like they are now.  Luckily I have the space to do so, however this is not a permanent arrangement. Please give him a chance.  He is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm meds and flea prevention.  He is an awesome dog!! 317.586 9877
