Meet Oakley! It comes with a super heavy heart that we are posting him. We purchased Oakley a few days after Christmas and Unfortunately my 7 year old son is allergic- very much so where I am keeping them separate at the time. Over the course of having him I have tried everything to see if I can make this work, Hepa filters, bathing the dog, brushing, cleaning, hand washing- I am in a situation where my son will be uncomfortable in any way, shape or form while we have a dog in our home. We are absolutely heartbroken but this begins the search of his forever home. Oakley is AKC certified, up to date on all shots, he has been exposed to a cat and adores him. He was also exposed to children- he has been great with my kids, extremely tolerable and enjoys playing with them. We have been working on walking on a leash, crate training and potty training. He understands the concept of using the bathroom outside and receives a cookie for no accidents in the house. While he is with us, I will continue to work on potty training with him to reinforce that into a forever skill. Oakley eats once in the morning and once at night, a mix between wet and dry food. He has been sleeping great for a puppy! I have been getting 8 hour stretches with him sleeping, and when we wake for the day, he wakes up with us and makes it to the bathroom if taken out immediately. He has a beautiful English Cream color, a wonderful goofy temperament. He goes with the flow and is okay with hanging in the kitchen alone as I get things done, or enjoys laying down to watch tv with us. He seems to be a perfect family dog! We are just a family in Monroe, CT who fell in love with a puppy, brought him home and after a week of trail and error of doing things to help, the allergy issue and my sons health needs to come first.
