General DescriptionTika is a 7 year old Australian Shepherd, she is not a mini but I believe she was the runt of her litter so she is a bit smaller than a normal Australian Shepherd (17lbs) and is completely healthy.

Tika absolutely loves people and is very loyal. She loves giving handshakes and kisses. She loves to play fetch and tug of war. She never causes issues for us - like biting furniture, or peeing/pooping inside - when we are not home.

Training History

When she was two years old, we paid for a 2-week general manners/obedience training so Tika knows basics like sit, down, come, place, heel, and break although if she is excited about something, it can be harder for her to listen. We have a backyard that does not have a fence, and we are able to let her outside without a leash. Tika has been around other dogs and horses!

Health/Nutrition

Tika is a healthy dog who enjoys playtime and running around. She had a sensitive stomach when she was younger, and we discovered that lamb kibble works best for her and she loves the taste.

Why rehome?

We had friends live with us for 6 months and they had a 3-year-old and 6-year-old and she was completely fine and played with them safely but now we have a 1-year-old toddler and we have noticed some aggression from Tika towards him (growling and one time bit his hand after he pulled her tail). Our problem now is that our son is too young to understand what he can’t do like pulling Tika’s hair or screaming loudly in her face repeatedly and we have a second baby on the way coming in April.

Considering that we have already tried general obedience training and have a newborn on the way very soon, we made the tough decision to urgently seek to rehome her. Otherwise, she has honestly been a great dog for us up until very recently when our 1-year-old started to become more mobile.
