We are looking for a safe, experienced home for our 3-year-old female dog. This is an incredibly difficult decision because we love her very much, and she is sweet, affectionate, and loving with our family and children. Unfortunately, she has significant reactivity toward people outside our household, particularly neighbors. She recently bit a neighbor’s child, and because we don't have the resources or expertise to safely address her behavioral needs, we believe finding a more appropriate home is the responsible thing to do. We want to be completely upfront: she has a bite history and should not be placed in a home with children or with someone who is inexperienced with reactive/aggressive dogs. She needs an adopter who understands behavioral management, is willing to work with a qualified professional, and can provide a structured, secure environment. At home, she can be a wonderful companion. She is affectionate with the people she knows, enjoys being around her family, and has a very sweet personality. We believe she may benefit from dedicated behavioral work, but we cannot guarantee how much her behavior will change. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. We are looking for someone who will take her behavior seriously, keep everyone safe, and give her the structure andprofessional help she needs.
