Meet our sweet Charlie boy whom we have had the fun privilege of caring for over the past almost 4 years. We love this pup so so much and will miss him tremendously however our family is finding that due to various family goals and desires we have we would do better to not have any "inside" pets during this upcoming season of our lives with more travel and more plans outside of our home.  We just want Charlie to be in a great family that will love him just as much as we do and someone looking for a new furry family member to join them in their life adventures! Charlie was born in January 2022 in NC with an excellent breeder and has excellent genes. He could be AKC registered but we just have not done this.  He is not a goldendoodle per se but they did not have an option for his exact mix.  He is fully intact male English Cream Retriever and Standard White Poodle mix but I would say that he definitely has more of the Poodle traits in a lot of ways but the retriever shines through in his retriever abilities and other, so I would say he is a pretty good mix.  Charlie is generally right around 55 lbs. in weight and would be more the size of a standard poodle.  He does need regular grooming either at home or professionally every 2-3 months depending on desired look and such.  He is very agile and loves activity and learning so he would be an excellent dog for agility training as well.  He gets along very well with other dogs and is also very good around children.  We do not know how he would act around cats as we have never had one.  He has also been around chickens and ducks and as long as they are enclosed he just sits and watches them.  Even when ours have been out free-ranging he has chased some and pinned them down but not hurt any (however I definitely would not suggest he duck or chicken sit without supervision).  His favorite things to do are to go on hikes play fetch with his frisbee or ball and really just be the best companion and cuddle buddy. He knows the basic commands like sit stay come lie down and a couple extras like "say please" and turn around. He is definitely a very trainable dog and super smart.  We do not use a crate so I would not suggest this for him at all and do not feel it is needed.  He is fully house trained and will often go sit at the door if he needs to go out but has also done this just because he wants his outside toys.  He has always done well without a fenced in yard but I think would love having the security and freedom with playing outside with a fence and maybe some other doggy siblings as well!  We also handle any health needs he has ever had at home and as naturally as possible but has struggled off and on with ear infections. A natural raw meat diet would be best for him and I have my guesses on some food intolerances but we have tried to have him on better Kibble food than the generic brands as well as supplementing with meat and other things.  He has never had fleas or any issues with fleas and we only ever had him on natural Flea Treats prevention when he was younger and has been great since then.

We definitely believe that it would be best for Charlie to be in a family where someone is home with him most of the time as this has been his routine with us since we are a homeschooling family and one of us is typically home majority of the time however he does fine at home when we are gone as long as he is given a fun treat to help (can explain in further detail when you inquire of him).  He adores kids and is very curious but also keeps his distance until he knows them well and is comfortable with them.  Overall Charlie is very chill when everyone is busy with tasks around the house bringing a toy every once in a while or coming up for some attention with the very common Doodle paw on you (sometimes a bit persistent depending on what he wants from you) but the minute it is time for outside play or a walk he is quick to follow and beelines it to his favorite outdoor toys. We have loved having him be the companion and "guard dog" for the times when just our teenagers have been at home by themselves at various times as he is pretty alert when there is a visitor on property and a knock at the door. He is not a very hospitable pup right when visitors come as he likes to bark at them (which we are totally fine with) but his barking stops pretty quickly as company settles in and he is pretty quick to settle down and sit by those he is most comfortable around, typically his family.
