Buddy is a 2 year old adult corgi/boxer mix who has been a cherished part of our family since we adopted him from a shelter when he was just a baby. From the very beginning, Buddy has grown into a dog who means so much to us, and making the decision to find him a new home has been incredibly difficult. He has become a truly important part of our lives, which is why we want to do what’s best for him.Buddy is best described as a medium sized dog, though he is currently overweight due to a mismatch between his energy level and our household’s busy schedule. Despite regular walks, we’ve come to realize that Buddy is an active, high energy dog who needs more prolonged and consistent daily activity than we are able to provide.
He is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loving dog who does wonderfully with kids and people of all ages. Buddy absolutely loves being around people, cuddling, and spending quality time with his humans. While he is completely harmless, he does tend to get very excited when meeting people because he’s just so happy and eager to interact. Buddy is very people oriented and can experience some separation anxiety, especially when left alone for long periods of time. This mainly shows through vocalizing and wanting to stay close to his people, but with consistency and an understanding home, he does well and thrives.
Buddy enjoys being outdoors, playing catch, tug of war, and spending time with other dogs. Due to his current weight, Buddy has some physical limitations. He has difficulty jumping, and his shorter legs can make stairs more challenging. However, we truly believe that with the right routine, dedication, and an active lifestyle, Buddy can continue working toward a healthier weight and regain even more confidence and mobility.
We are looking for a home that can provide Buddy with the time, activity, and attention he deserves; ideally with someone who enjoys staying active and is willing to help him continue his health journey. Our greatest hope is to find a loving home where Buddy can live a happy, fulfilling life.
This decision was made entirely with Buddy’s best interests in mind. We would be deeply grateful to find someone who is willing to take Buddy in, love him, and give him the opportunity to flourish, regardless of his current circumstances.
