Description
Posted 19 Sep 2025Sweet Sam’s owner has a rare progressive worsening disability (SPG7) – and his mobility is restricted for the most part. Sadly, this requires him to find a new home for his beloved pet. Friends and neighbors have been taking turns fostering Sam, but the situation is not sustainable. Please turn this sad story into a Godsend for both Sam and his hooman.
Sam was adopted from a shelter when he was (approx.) 2 years old, making him around 7-8 now. He is a 45-50 lbs Shepherd mix – a quiet shadow companion who only gets (slightly) vocal if you are late with his meals or get distracted while petting him. He walks very well on a leash and is always excited about going out.
Sam is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all his vaccines. He gets along well with smaller dogs and female dogs and loves all humans. Sam will flourish with people who are experienced pet-owners, who can comfort him during thunderstorms that frighten him and restrain him when he gets overly concerned with loud noise (eg garbage trucks and lawn mowers). He presently lives in the Vienna, VA area. Please email [email protected] and [email protected] with subject line –“Adopting Sam.” Will be happy to answer any questions.
