Description
Posted 23 Jan 2026I bought this Costa Rican Stripe-knee tarantula in October 2017 from VI Pets when I was about 15, and I believe she is female. She was already at least a year or two old when I got her, so she’s probably around eight years old now.I recently got married and we’re expecting a baby in a few months, so I need to free up some space in my apartment. She’s in great health and looks just as good as she always has.
When I first got her, I fed her six crickets dusted with calcium about once a month. After a few years, I switched to feeding her two hornworms per month. I’ve also tried dubia roaches, but she never ate them—they just ended up living in the tank until I removed them. I tried feeding pinky mice twice: she didn’t eat a pre-killed one, but she did eat a live one when it moved.
This species is a bit more skittish and defensive than something like a pink-toe tarantula, so I’ve never handled her. She is most active at night.
If you’re interested, I’ll include the aquarium, a smaller travel container, a heat lamp, and several pieces of décor, including two water dishes. Everything will be cleaned before pickup.
