Tuxie (Tux, Tuk-Tuk, Muy Puqioto Purrito) is a devoted nap-lover who prefers snoozing anywhere that smells like you—whether that’s the couch, your bed, or even a warm pile of laundry. He’s not a fan of the vacuum and will need a quiet spot to hide while it’s running, but he’ll reappear once the noise stops. He generally tolerates kittens and sometimes settles in well with them, though he’s not very fond of female cats. He’s a healthy boy with a big appetite, weighing around 14 lbs. While he’s quite active and surprisingly fast for his size, he may have a thyroid concern worth monitoring.

Tuxie would thrive best as an only pet. Although he has lived with other cats and large dogs before, he has a history of being attacked, and he deserves a stress-free home where he feels safe. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations.

He isn’t too interested in toys but will sometimes play with male cats or kittens. He loves head scratches, forehead kisses, tummy rubs, and even having his toe beans held. He prefers eating around 4 a.m. if you’re an early riser, or around 7 p.m. when you return home. He also favors fresh running tap water over a water bowl—otherwise, he’ll try to cover or spill it. For food, he eats 4health Indoor Grain-Free dry cat food (about 2 cups per day). Tuxie isn’t a fan of nail trims, but he’ll tolerate them if he’s gently wrapped in a towel (a little “kitty burrito” swaddle works best). He absolutely loves wet food and would happily choose it over dry if given the option.

A high‑walled litter box is strongly recommended. Because he was neutered after he began marking, he occasionally lifts high when he urinates—especially if he’s moody or encounters an unfamiliar cat—so taller sides help prevent accidents.

During the winter months, he’s prone to dry skin and may pull out some of his fur. The Walmart vet‑brand shampoo, antifungal spray, and similar products have worked very well for him and help keep his skin comfortable.

Tuxie is strictly an indoor-only cat. He becomes anxious if taken outside and will panic if he ends up farther than the front porch—even then, only with supervision. He needs the door open so he can dart back inside the moment he feels unsafe. Tuxie currently lives with three other male cats of various ages, so I won’t be able to send him with most of his accessories—just his high‑walled litter box. From time to time, he may retreat to the bathtub for a quiet moment. I’m not entirely sure why he does it—maybe he just needs a little space—but it’s normal for him. If you gently acknowledge him, say hello, or give him a soft forehead boop, he’ll warm up to you in no time, like he did with me when he was a kitten. He's had two homes his entire life, and I am sorry that I need to find him a third, but you will love him, that I am sure.
