Paddington is a great mini doodle! He was gifted to us, at the age of 7 months old, by a friend who was experiencing a hardship. He was purchased at a breeder farm in Lancaster Co., PA. He is compatible with children (including babies), other pets (currently lives with an indoor cat, and does very well on extended car rides. He is up to date on all vaccines and takes preventatives for ticks, fleas and heart-worms because we live out in the country.
We take him to a groomer every 3-4 months so he is use to that experience.
He would do best with a setting to run freely in a big backyard or take daily walks. He needs his people to be around during the day. He can be left at home for 4-6 hours, if need be but not often. He would do best with an older couple, homeschool family, farm setting or work from home family. He loves to snuggle and is playful but also rests a bit because he is a mini. He will chew if bored or left alone for extended periods of time (over 6 hours or more consecutively).
He does fine with other dogs, even bigger dogs. He plays more with male dogs but is gentler with female dogs.
He took a 12 week long training program at the Westminster, MD PetCo store. We have a young family so we have done our best to keep up with his training but he often needs a refresher if you want him to do tricks. He is super smart, observant, and a foodie. He loves special treats like: pb, scrambled eggs, blueberries and the yolks of eggs.
Thanks for considering Paddington - we are rehoming him because our next military assignment will likely involve us taking temporary placements making it difficult to have pets or no pets allowed living situations. We will want to meet you and make sure you are a good fit for Paddington.
