This sweet white shorthaired boy is almost 3 years old and weighs about 7 pounds. He was the runt of his litter, so he’s naturally on the smaller side — even smaller than our younger cat. He received his shots about two years ago.He is partially blind, which makes him a little unique and extra special. He can see well enough to get around, but things are likely blurry, so he walks low to the ground and takes in his surroundings carefully. Once he learns a layout, he adapts very well — he’ll even climb onto the couch once he’s familiar with it. You’ll definitely notice that he can see you when you’re close, and because of his limited eyesight, his hearing is excellent.
Since he doesn’t see very well, he isn’t much of a jumper. He does not jump on counters, tables, or high surfaces, which can actually be a bonus. He prefers soft blankets, cozy couches, and comfortable spots where he feels secure.
Personality-wise, he is very playful and loves toys. He is also highly food motivated — he absolutely loves food. Treats are a great way to bond with him and earn his trust.
He shows affection a little differently than most cats. He’s what we call a “love biter” — when he gets excited during petting, he may gently bite in a playful, non-aggressive way (almost like a dog showing excitement). Depending on how excited he gets, he may bite harder. His love bites have “levels,” ranging from very soft and gentle to firmer if he becomes more playful or overstimulated. They are not intended to harm, but they can be stronger if he gets carried away.
He is not aggressive, but if he becomes very overstimulated or frightened, he may hiss or vocalize. When there’s a lot going on, he sometimes needs to retreat and hide to decompress.
Because of his unique way of playing and showing affection, he would do best in a home with no other animals. Other pets can misunderstand his playful love bites as aggression. For the same reason, he should not be placed in a home with very young children, as his playful biting may be too much for them.
Like many animals, he absolutely hates the vet. After a vet visit, he may be a little mad at you for a short while — but he always forgives and doesn’t hold a grudge forever.
He’s used to sleeping in his own little kennel at night, as all of our animals are kept in their beds. He will come with his kennel, an automatic feeder, and a litter box.
He is incredibly cute, friendly, and has such a special personality. He enjoys cuddles in moderation (too much affection may bring out the playful love bites). And for reasons we still don’t understand — he absolutely loves bathrooms!
He would thrive with a patient, understanding owner who appreciates a cat with a unique spirit, playful heart, and special way of showing love.
