How does PetClassifieds.com work?

PetClassifieds.com connects local buyers with sellers. We provide the platform, but we do not sell pets directly.

Safety First: We run automated security checks, but we cannot physically verify every pet. Always meet in a safe public place and never pay in advance. Read our full Safety Guide.

How do I register? (It's Free)

1. Go to the Registration Page.
2. Enter your email (kept private by default).
3. Check your email: Click the verification link we send you.

Note: If you see “Email already exists,” you likely already have an account. Please Log In.

I didn't receive my verification email

1. Check your **Spam/Junk folder**.
2. If the link is unclickable, copy/paste the URL into your browser bar.

Scam Alert: We verify via email link ONLY. If you receive a text asking for a “6-digit code,” it is a scammer. NEVER share this code.

I forgot my password / How to change password

To Reset a Lost Password:
Click the “Forgot password?” link on the Login Page.

To Change a Known Password:
1. Log in and go to your Profile.
2. Click “Edit Profile.”
3. Select “Change Password” at the top of the settings.

Why can't I access the site? (VPN/Proxy)

To protect our community from international scammers, we restrict access from certain high-risk countries.
* VPNs/Proxies: Access is blocked if you use technology to hide your location.
* Traveling: If you are abroad, the site may be temporarily inaccessible.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently delete your account:
1. Go to your Profile Page.
2. Click “Edit Profile.”
3. Scroll to the bottom and click “Delete account?”.

How do I contact a seller?

* Chat: Click the “Send Message” button on the ad page.
* Phone: Click “Click to View Number” (if the seller provided one).

Where are my messages?

1. Log in and go to your Profile.
2. Click the “Messages” button.
3. Click the Envelope Icon ✉️ next to the relevant ad to open the chat history.

Why did an ad disappear?

The ad was likely Sold, Expired, or Removed by our safety team.

Note: If an ad is deleted, the chat history attached to it is also removed for privacy.

Selling & Ads

How do I post a free ad?


1. Details: Enter a Title and select the Main Category (e.g., Dogs) + Sub-Category (e.g., Beagle).
2. Photos: Upload at least 1 photo (Landscape works best).
3. Location: Enter your city and phone number (you can hide the number later).

Why won't my photos upload?"

If your photos fail to upload, check these 3 things:
1. Size: Max file size is 25MB per photo.
2. Format: We accept JPG, PNG & WebP. (HEIC files from iPhones might need converting).
3. Connection: If on mobile, try switching to Wi-Fi.

Why is my ad 'Inactive' or 'In Review'?

Our automated safety system is reviewing your ad. This takes less than 10 hours.
Please do not repost the same ad; it will reset the timer.

Why was my account/ad suspended?

Common reasons include:
* Duplicate Ads: Posting the same pet multiple times.
* Wrong Location: Posting in a city where the pet is not actually located.
* Scam Suspicion: Asking for wire transfers or using stolen photos.
* Prohibited Items: Selling banned species.

How do I fix my Category? (Wrong Breed)

If your pet isn’t showing up in the breed search:
1. Click Edit Ad (Pencil Icon).
2. Clear the “Main Category” field (Click the X).
3. Re-select “Dogs & Puppies.”
4. Wait a moment for the “Sub-Category” box to appear.
5. Select your specific breed and Save.

How do I stop Spam Texts?

Pro Tip: Hide your phone number.

Edit your ad and uncheck “Display phone number publicly.” Buyers can still email you safely through our system.

If you get a scam text: Forward it to 7726 (Spam Reporting) and block the number.

Featured Ads vs. Bump Ups

* Featured Ad: Pins your ad to the top of the category (High Visibility).
* Bump Up: Pushes your ad back to the top of the “Newest” list (Like reposting it).

To apply: Buy a package Here, then click the buttons on your Profile.

How do I edit or remove my ad?

To Edit: Go to your Profile and click the Pencil Icon.
To Remove: Change status to “Sold” or click the Red Cross to delete.
